William Ronald Bock Obituary

William Ronald Bock
Wednesday, July 24, 2024
Nov. 26, 1931 - July 23, 2024

William Ronald Bock, 92, formerly of Roachdale and Clinton Township, died at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis on July 23, 2024.

Bill was born in Reelsville in 1931. His parents were Theodore and Lillian Lucille (Snider) Bock, who lived on a farm near Brick Chapel. Bill attended Clinton Center and Bainbridge schools before joining Lonestar Industries in Greencastle, and later, the United States Air Force, from 1950-1954.

After his service, Bill returned to Lonestar and followed his father’s career path as an industrial electrician. As technology advanced, he completed training at Coyne College in Chicago. For many years, he served as union secretary, representing his brothers and sisters at the plant. After 47 years, he retired and spent time traveling with his wife throughout the United States and Canada. In 2017, he moved to the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

Bill was an avid fisherman who enjoyed participating in bass fishing tournaments or just spending the day on Rockville Lake. A longtime St. Louis Cardinals fan, he enjoyed sparring with Cubs and Twins fans.

He is survived by his children, Steven, Bob (Wynne) and Mary (Anne Aronson), plus two grandchildren (Sarah and Max), three great-grandchildren (JJ, Owen and Lucy). Bill is also survived by his sister, Betsy Bock Adams, and brother Ted (Amy Dorris) and treasured nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Dean), sisters Nancy Jones and Susan (Loral) Rumple.

Special thanks to the Minnesota Veterans Home Minneapolis staff, who were much loved by Bill, and enjoyed his fish tales as he enjoyed their stories.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. There will be a time of gathering one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery.

You are invited to visit www.serviesmorgan.com where you may leave an online condolence or share a memory with the family. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
